This project examines how Blackness in America has been misrepresented and devalued through systemic oppression, from historic injustices like Rodney King’s beating to the murder of George Floyd. Using design as a tool for education and advocacy, it seeks to challenge negative narratives of the Black body, highlight the resilience and richness of Black culture, and promote inclusivity through a powerful Black gaze that both reflects identity and exposes the behaviors of oppression.
